The company was founded by Friedrich Lürssen with a desire to create a leading shipyard in both quality and performance. With headquarters in Bremen-Vegesack and five building yards in north Germany, Lürssen Yachts is responsible for building some of the world’s finest luxury yachts between 33 and 200 meters, and can claim to have produced the world’s first motor yacht in 1886. Shipyards: The company utilizes a number of shipyards and worldwide connections to achieve its goal of total customer satisfaction, employing more than 1000 craftsmen and 200 engineers. Specialized expertise and experience are the corner stones of Lürssen’s success which has seen the company launch more than 3,000 vessels since 1875. The shipyard itself is split into three distinct business fields; the building of naval vessels and special ships; the building of luxury super yachts from 50 to 200 meters plus; and Lürssen Logistic that concentrates on repair and maintenance, yacht management, spare part documentation, and crew training.
